Slewing drives are compact rotation units built into an iron casted housing that contains a slewing ring with a gear. A worm gear rotates a slewing ring with high precision; it enables maximum gear torque and smooth rotation. Slewing drives can handle axial, radial and tilting loads and are fully sealed.
The worm-gear type slewing drive is developed by the slewing bearing. It is composed of housing, a turbine ferrule, a worm gear, a motor and kits. Compared with the conventional slewing bearing, the structure is compacted, safe and modularity.

WH is a heavy-duty series slew drive comprising for higher capacity and one or two worms acting upon one wheel yielding maximum torque at the smallest size and weight. Typical applications are steering gears for heavy transportation, rock drill rigs, tilt rotators attached to excavators, and antenna drives. If space is not a limitation, a WH slew drive may be used which would be larger in width (diameter) and would have an increased weight compared with a WH worm drive of a comparable output torque and moment load capacity. However, the total height of the WH drive would be smaller than a WH unit.
